Puneet Nanda is Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Venture with responsibility and oversight of all verticals across its diversified alternative asset management platform. Mr. Nanda joined ICICI Venture in June 2020. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Mr. Nanda served as Deputy Managing Director of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, one of India’s largest life insurance companies in the private sector with an AUM of over USD 20 billion as of March 31, 2020. Mr. Nanda was closely involved in the IPO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance which became the first insurance company to be publicly listed in India in 2016 at a valuation of USD 7 billion. Mr. Nanda served on the Board of Directors of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance from August 2010 until June 2020. He joined the company at its start-up stage in January 2001 as Head of the Investments function. During his 19+ years at the company, he was responsible for initially building and thereafter nurturing the high quality investments program of the company across asset classes including public and private equity, public and private debt, real estate and strategic investments. Subsequently, since 2010, his role was expanded to include oversight of other business functions of the company involving over 14,000 personnel across 500+ offices pan India as of March 2020. He has also served on the Board of Directors of ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company as its Non-Executive Director between 2009 and June 2020. Prior to ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Mr. Nanda has worked at ICICI Securities and J.P. Morgan. Mr. Nanda received a B.E. from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and PGDM (Finance and Marketing) from IIM Lucknow.

Mohit Batra is the Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Venture, which is ICICI group alternative assets company, where he leads the Infrastructure practice. He joined ICICI Bank in 1992 and worked in the areas of corporate and project finance across a range of manufacturing sectors. He then moved to Mumbai as a part of ICICI Bank’s newly set up Infrastructure SBU and in 2004 was given the responsibility to Head the Project Finance Group which worked across the entire spectrum of Telecom, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas industries. In addition, Mohit was also involved in the strategic finance and advisory services offered by ICICI Bank including M&A, transaction structuring, acquisition financing etc. for the period 2006-07. Mohit has experience of around 150 deals including Public Private Partnerships aggregating to a project cost of over USD 77 billion. He has worked across the entire Capital structure including equity, subordinated /mezzanine debt and senior debt with total financing committed of around USD 36 billion.

Mohit has operated at the board level of companies and has had hands on experience in buyouts, project finance, corporate banking, equity investing, strategic finance and resolution of stressed assets. He has in the past worked on several infrastructure policy initiatives undertaken by the Government in the areas of power, airports, telecom and roads.

At ICICI Venture, Mohit is responsible for infrastructure vertical. The infrastructure vertical has assets under advice with enterprise value of USD 1.75 billion through Resurgent Power (a platform company co-sponsored with Tata Power). The assets include one generation asset i.e. Prayagraj Power Generation Company (1980 MW supercritical plant) and two transmission assets i.e. South East UP Transmission and NRSS XXXVI Transmission, with lines across 4 States.

Beena has been associated with ICICI Venture for over two decades in various capacities and is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the organization. She has been involved in setting up and structuring exits of several domestic and cross border funds and is also credited with the restructuring of a cross border fund having investments in various countries, an assignment that was a first of its kind.

Currently, she is overseeing the accounting, audit, taxation and treasury function and is actively involved in the designing of internal controls and monitoring process for some of the portfolio companies. She has extensively worked on devising cross border tax efficient structure for deals.

She has played an active role in defining and shaping the regulatory environment of the industry and is credited for a number of measures introduced by the regulators to encourage the industry. She has participated in the Dr. Lahiri committee set up by SEBI to recommend changes to the regulatory environment of the industry and has made representations to several regulatory authorities including SEBI, RBI & CBDT.

She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has completed an Executive Development Program at Harvard University, USA & has attended various programmes organised by the European Venture Capital Association, UK .

Puneet has around 25 years of diversified experience spread across Investment Banking, Private Equity, Lending and Structured Finance in Indian real estate. Prior to joining ICICI Venture in August 2019, Puneet was Director and Head Investments at Mirae Global Investments heading all Real Estate Investment initiatives of the Group in India.

His association with the Real Estate Industry dates back from 1994, the beginning of organized real estate Investment Banking, Consulting and Agency business in India. As one of early stage real estate professional, he played a pivotal role in shaping markets, providing Agency services, working in International Property Consulting organisations and largest private sector Bank as well as pioneering investment in Private Equity/Mezzanine finance (First FDI player to do Mezzanine Finance). In India, he has been amongst key first set of employee in IPCs like Colliers International and Jones Lang LaSalle, Property Services Group in ICICI Bank, Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia Bank) and Shapoorji Pallonji; having closely witnessed and worked through many economic cycles in India. In the Private Equity/Mezzanine Finance, he has led team of professionals to invest, manage and successfully exit ~USD 500 million at Wells Fargo and closed a ~USD 250 million with Canada Pension Plan and Investment Board while working at Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Puneet holds a Bachelor’s degree in B.Com (Honours) from Delhi University, ICWAI (Intermediate) and Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Puneet is also eminent member of RICS (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), Chairperson and Member of Global list of Trained Assessors for RICS.

Nikhil has ~20 years of experience in Private Equity investing and Business Consulting across sectors. Prior to joining ICICI Venture in November 2017, Nikhil spent 12 years with The Carlyle Group based in Mumbai. In his last assignment as Director – Asia Growth Capital, he led several growth capital investments in India for the Carlyle Group. He has successfully made investments in businesses across financial services, pharmaceutical-healthcare, technology and manufacturing sectors.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Nikhil worked with McKinsey & Company for 4 years on consulting engagements with senior managements of Fortune 500 and other leading companies across consumer, banking, chemicals, oil and gas and telecom. He has worked across multiple functions such as strategy, operations, business building and organization.

Nikhil is a Graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Gagandeep has 15 years of rich experience in Private Equity. He joined ICICI Venture in 2008 and has made successful investments and exits in businesses across consumer, financial services, insurance, pharma and services sectors. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, he was with private equity fund WL Ross & Co LLC focussing on buy-out and turnaround deals across pharma, consumer, finance, manufacturing and speciality chemicals. Prior to this, he worked with CRISIL Limited (a S&P Global Company) for 2 years, providing strategic and financial consulting to large clients across oil/gas, power, coal and petrochemical sectors. He began his career as an Engineer with Engineers India Limited, where he worked for 3 years as part of consulting and design team for refineries and pipelines.

Gagandeep is a Postgraduate in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

Kundan joined ICICI Venture in 2008. Since then, he has been involved with new business development and strategic fund raising initiatives of the firm across its different verticals, aggregating to new capital commitments of over USD 2.5 billion from Indian and foreign investors across various funds and verticals. He has also been involved in various new strategic initiatives of the firm during this period. He works closely with the MD & CEO and the various investment and corporate teams across various verticals at ICICI Venture in the areas of fund strategy formulation, fund structuring and formation, marketing strategy formulation and implementation, fund raising including documentation, investor relations, investor servicing and other organizational matters including corporate communications.

Prior to joining ICICI Venture, he has previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Aditya Birla Group (a leading Indian business conglomerate) and Business Consulting Group (a leading Indian strategy consulting firm). During his professional career spanning over 23 years, he has worked across the areas of private equity fund formation, fund raising, investor relations, corporate strategy & business development and M&A. He has worked extensively both in India and overseas. He completed his B.E with Honours and MMS with Honours from the Bombay University.

Rushank has 12 years of experience in private equity investing. He joined ICICI Venture in 2007 and has successfully led investments and exits in pharma, healthcare and logistics sectors. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, he was with the Corporate Finance Group at Aditya Birla Management Corporation Limited (ABMCL), the apex decision making body of the Aditya Birla Group. At ABMCL he was focused on sourcing and evaluation of M&A and large organic projects in chemicals, textiles, mining and metals. He was also part of the team to roll out the Economic Value Added (EVA) framework across the Group. Prior to this, he worked with Pfizer India for 2 years as part of the strategic planning and business development department focused on sourcing and evaluating M&A opportunities and strategic marketing tie-ups.

Pradeep has been with the ICICI group for more than 15 years and joined ICICI Venture in 2014. At ICICI Venture, Pradeep has jointly led the creation of the high quality portfolio of IAF RE S2 and also its exits besides leading exits from the residual portfolio of IAF RE S1.

Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Pradeep was instrumental in the establishment and scale-up of ICICI Home Finance Company (a subsidiary of ICICI Bank) which became a key player in the affordable housing market across 300+ cities on a pan India basis.

Prior to this, Pradeep led the retail mortgages and real estate transaction & advisory business of ICICI Bank. He was a member of the core team that started the mortgage business of ICICI Bank and also led this business in various geographies across the country.

Pradeep brings with him significant experience and client relationships in the Indian real estate industry. Pradeep holds a Bachelor’s degree in BSc (Honours) – Electronics from Delhi University and MBA in Marketing

Santanu has ~19 years experience in Indian financing space, particularly Infrastructure, covering both debt and equity. Since joining ICICI Venture in October 2014, Santanu has been part of the team that set up a Platform focused on buy-out of power projects in  India. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Santanu had spent ~9 years in ICICI Bank (Project Finance Group, focusing on Power sector and International Syndications Group) and ~4 years in Citigroup Global Markets India (Capital Markets team focusing on providing debt solution to Indian corporates).

Santanu is a Chartered Accountant and a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Sharad has over 21 years of experience with ICICI Group, spanning across operating and investing side of the business. He has spent last 12 years in Private Equity investment business and has managed transactions at multiple stages of the business with smaller to larger ticket sizes. Sharad has worked on transactions and managed companies across traditional and new age sectors which include Fintech, BFSI, Consumers, Agritech, manufacturing etc. He also heads the ESG responsibilities for private equity business at ICICI Venture.

Earlier, he was founding member of team for early-stage growth private equity investment fund at ICICI & has managed full life cycle of the fund. He was instrumental in raising the fund and managed investments across sectors. In his earlier role with ICICI Bank, he has spent time with International Banking Group with assignments in various countries.

Sharad holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and Management degree from University of Mumbai.

Subeer started his career in 2007 with experience ranging across private capital investing and financial services. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Subeer spent over 12 years with Mayfield India focused on early-stage investing. He has worked on investments across sectors including financial services, technology, consumer, logistics and B2B spaces.

Prior to Mayfield India, Subeer was a part of IL&FS Investmart in the equity capital markets investment banking team. Thereafter he was with HSBC InvestDirect’s NBFC focused on debt transactions.

Subeer has done his graduation from the University of Windsor, Canada.

Pooja joined ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited in 2012. She is responsible for the legal and compliance functions of ICICI Venture. She started her career as a litigator before moving to an in-house role. She has varied legal experience having worked in various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, real estate and financial services. Since joining ICICI Venture, she has been actively involved in several investments and divestments made by funds managed by ICICI Venture (both in the private equity and real estate space). She has also been instrumental in structuring the infrastructure platform. Prior to joining ICICI Venture, she was with the Piramal Group, a well known and reputed diversified group in India. During her tenure with Piramal, she was part of the group’s merger & acquisition transactions including Piramal’s acquisition of a stake in Vodafone India. She was also actively involved in the private equity, real estate and financial services activities of the Piramal Group.

She is an alumna of ILS College, Pune.

Richa Sengar joined ICICI Venture in February 2021 as Head – Human Resources.

Prior to joining ICICI Venture, Richa worked with ICICI Bank for 15 years in the HR function. During her stint at ICICI Bank she has worked across the breadth of businesses spanning Retail, Rural, Corporate Banking, Treasury, Proprietary Trading, Customer Service and Infrastructure Management.

With over 18 years of experience as a Human Resource professional, she has diverse experience across various facets of Human Resources. She has extensively contributed in setting up processes and policies in the areas of Business HR, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Recruitment and Capability Building. She has also been responsible for various organisational design initiatives at the Bank and developing interventions for change management which has been a significant enabler in helping business deliver in its vision.

Prior to joining ICICI Bank she has worked with Blue Star Ltd. in the Corporate HR profile.

Richa completed her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University in 1999. She went on to receive her Masters in Human Resources from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai in 2002.
