Sunay has been with ICICI Venture since 1999 and has over 131 years experience across various industries ranging from private equity, financial credit rating, business journalism and industrial consultancy. In his current role, Sunay is responsible for investments in buyout transactions across sectors and growth transactions in select industrial sectors. He leads an investment team that scouts for transaction opportunities with control situations and then is responsible for all aspects of executing and managing such transactions. He has served as a nominee director on the boards of PVR Limited, PVR Pictures Limited, Sangam (India), Electrotherm (India) and Metalcastello.

Prior to ICICI Venture, he has worked with National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology, CRISIL and Bennett Coleman & Company Limited. 

Sunay is a metallurgical engineer from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
