Jayanta has over 17 years of industry experience in private equity and investment banking and has played multiple roles at ICICI Venture. He is currently a member of the Management Team and is responsible for Corporate & Strategic Initatives, including maintaining ICICI Venture's strong industry presence, strategy and timing of new funds and investor relations. He played a pivotal role in raising ICICI Venture's US $ 810 mn private equity fund in 2005 from investors across the globe. Jayanta has also served as a Director on the Investments Team, overseeing investments in the auto components, textiles and logistics sectors. Some of his past investments at ICICI Venture include Welspun, Nagarjuna Construction, Air Deccan, Action Construction and Gateway Distriparks. Jayanta is on the Board of Directors of Transafe, a logistics company where ICICI Venture owns a majority stake.

In addition to ICICI Venture, Jayanta has worked with reputed organizations including Lehman Brothers, Ernst & Young, ICICI Securities, Bank of America and Siemens.

Jayanta is an electrical engineer from Jadavpur University and is a MBA (Gold Medalist) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
