Gateway Distriparks Limited ("GDL") is the largest private sector player in India providing port related logistics support services. The company provides services for handling and clearance of sea borne export import trade in containerized form through transit facilities located near ports or in the interiors of the country. GDL has a pan India presence through its strategically located facilities. GDL has also ventured into the rail container transport business in India after the latter was privatized. GDL plans to ride on the projected strong container traffic growth and become an integrated logistics player.

Since the investment, the company has expanded its geographical footprint through new facilities in Faridabad and Cochin and ramped up its container freight business. In Nov 2006, the company acquired Snowman Frozen Foods Ltd., a leading player in the Indian cold chain logistics space.
