Ms. Lalita D. Gupte,
Chairperson - ICICI Venture

Ms. Gupte joined ICICI in 1971 and has acquired a wide range of experience in the areas of strategic planning, project finance, leasing, resources and treasury, and credit operations. She was appointed Executive Director of ICICI Ltd. in 1994 and subsequently became Deputy Managing Director and Joint Managing Director of ICICI Ltd. and ICICI Bank. She retired from ICICI Bank in October 2006. Ms. Gupte has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics Honours) and also holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai. 


Mr Kashi Memani
Director

Mr. Memani is the former Chairman and Country Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, India, a position from which he retired in 2004. He has also been a member of the Ernst & Young Global Council for the past 10 years. Mr. Memani specialises in business and corporate advisory, foreign taxation and financial consultancy and provides his consulting services on corporate matters to several domestic and foreign companies. He has assisted several multinational companies in setting up businesses in India. Mr. Memani is associated with various Chambers of Commerce and is also a member of the governing bodies of certain business schools and social, educational, service and charity organisations. Mr. Memani is a Chartered Accountant.


Mr H N Sinor
Director

Mr. Sinor’s career in the banking sector has spanned over 43 years, during which he has served in a wide range of roles related to commercial banking operations. He began his career in 1965 with the Central Bank of India and in 1969 moved to Union Bank of India, where he worked for 28 years. During his career at Union Bank of India, he served in various capacities, reaching the position of General Manager. In 1996, he was appointed as Executive Director of the Central Bank of India. He subsequently moved to ICICI Bank in July 1997 as Executive Director. In 1998, he took over as Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank. Following the merger of ICICI and ICICI Bank in 2002, he served as Joint Managing Director of ICICI Bank. Mr. Sinor retired from ICICI Bank in 2003 and subsequently joined the Indian Banks’ Association as Chief Executive and Secretary. Mr. Sinor holds degrees in commerce and law. He has worked on various committees of the Reserve Bank of India, the Indian Banks’ Association and the Confederation of Indian Industry and has actively contributed to policy and decision-making processes at these institutions.


Mr. Subrata Mukherji
Director

Mr. Mukherji, advisor to ICICI Group, has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry and a keen understanding of the various facets of the Indian economy. He retired as the MD and CEO of ICICI Securities Ltd, the largest integrated securities firm covering the needs of corporate and retail customers through investment banking, institutional broking, retail broking and financial product distribution businesses. At ICICI Securities, Mr Mukherji undertook several CSR activities and supported several causes which aimed at the education and enablement of underprivileged children. Some of the noteworthy initiatives were Muktangan and Doorstep, both of which are responsible for promoting education to the underprivileged children and Support, a NGO which rehabilitates street children addicted to drugs. Prior to this office, Mr. Mukherji was Executive Director, ICICI Bank. He commenced his career in erstwhile ICICI Ltd in 1978 and has worked extensively in all sectors including infrastructure, oil, gas, petrochemicals and energy sectors. He has also worked extensively in resolving stressed assets and has a keen understanding of several issues impacting the banking sector in this regard. As a seasoned banker, Mr. Mukherji has witnessed the transformation of ICICI from a development finance oriented Bank to a technology driven, retail-focussed and a solutions organisation which has helped it become the largest private sector bank. Mr. Mukherji continues to maintain links with the academic world and has been a guest faculty for several prestigious institutes such as IIM, Calcutta, Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Bankers Training Centre - Mumbai, and National Institute of Bank Management. Mr. Mukherji completed his BA, Economics from St. Xaviers, Mumbai, his Masters in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and a postgraduate degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. He has also attended Executive Development Programmes at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and at the Harvard Business School. He has joined the Board of Directors with effect from May 8, 2009.


Mr. K. Ramkumar 
Director

Mr.Ramkumar, Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Bank is responsible for Operations & Credit, Treasury Middle-Office and Human Resource functions. Mr. Ramkumar has completed his PGDM from Madras School of Social Work in 1984 and BSC Chemistry in 1982. Prior to joining ICICI Bank in 2001 Mr. Ramkumar had over 16 years of experience in companies such as Hindustan Aeronautics, Brookebond Lipton India Limited (now Hindustan Unilever Limited) and ICI India Ltd. His work in these companies has mainly been in the areas of Human Resources Management and Production Management. At ICICI Bank Mr. Ramkumar has been responsible for Human Resource function, initially for the Bank and then for all the companies in the ICICI Group. He has worked extensively in the areas of recruitment, competency design, succession management, learning and development and Leadership Development. Under his guidance, ICICI Bank has implemented cutting edge practices and methodologies in the domain of leadership development, learning, creation and use of psychometric tools. Mr. Ramkumar also has extensive experience in the areas of process design and quality management to create scale and efficiency. At ICICI Bank, he has driven cost productivity across the organization through work methodization & norming, and process & structure optimization. He has joined the Board of Directors with effect from May 8, 2009.

Ms Vishakha Mulye
Managing Director & CEO

Ms.Mulye joined the ICICI Group in 1993 and has vast experience in the areas of strategy, treasury & markets, proprietary equity investing and management of long-term equity investments, structured finance and corporate & project finance. She led the team that planned and executed the merger of ICICI and ICICI Bank in 2002. From 2002 to 2005, she was responsible for the Bank's structured finance and global markets businesses, and its financial institutions relationships. She is credited with being a key driver and enabler of the debt securitization market in India, and with building the Bank's global markets business. From 2005-2007, she was the CFO of ICICI Bank. Under her leadership, the Bank raised close to US$ 7 billion in equity capital and several billion dollars of debt financing. She led landmark fundraising deals like ICICI Bank's US$ 5 billion equity offering in 2007, and the first hybrid capital issuance by an Indian bank in 2006. In October 2007, she was elevated to the Board of ICICI Bank's general insurance subsidiary, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company. Ms.Mulye has been selected as a 'Young Global Leader' for the year 2007 by the World Economic Forum and named one of the "Most Powerful Women in Indian Business - 2007" by Business Today. She was awarded the India CFO Award, 2006 instituted by IMA for excellence in finance in a large corporate. Ms. Mulye is a member of the Aspen Institute's 'India Leadership Initiative'.
