Bharat Biotech is a Hyderabad based biotechnology company focused on vaccines, biopharmaceuticals and contract research & manufacturing. The company was promoted by Dr. Krishna Ella, a first generation entrepreneur and former Assistant Professor, Medical University of South Carolina, in 1996. The company commenced commercial production in 1998 with the launch of Hepatitis B (Hep B) vaccine and has since then launched other products, which it sells in domestic and non-regulated markets to the institutional and retail market segments through its sales team and also through co-marketing alliances.

The company has a robust pipeline of products and is expected to launch several new products in the next few years. Further the company is currently working with leading multinational pharmaceutical companies like Wyeth and Abgenix for contract manufacturing of some of their products.
